Men’s Volleyball Heads to Purdue Fort Wayne This Weekend

» Saint Francis University men's volleyball will hit the road for back-to-back matches against Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, Jan. 28 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 29 at 3:00 p.m.
» Both matches can be followed along with Live Stats. The game on Friday can be streamed live on ESPN+. While the match on Saturday can be streamed live on YouTube.

THE WORD ON PURDUE FORT WAYNE
The Mastodons come into the contest on Friday with an overall record of 3-3 for the 2022 season. The Fort Wayne squad have claimed straight set victories over King College and Maryville University, while winning in four over St. Francis Brooklyn.

Purdue Fort Wayne's last game was against a fellow EIVA team to the Red Flash in NJIT, the Fort Wayne squad lost the match in three sets.

LAST TIME OUT
Recently the Red Flash claimed its first victory of the season at home against Long Island University to go 1-3 overall. The squad won the match in straight sets.

In the team's match against the Sharks, Thomas Leahey led the Red Flash in the game overall with 11 kills, one serving ace and two blocks for 13 total attacks.

Freshman Nathan Zini followed closely behind with six kills on the day to pick up one service ace himself.

While setter Ryan Parker put up 18 assists for the squad and a service ace.

LAST TIME WE MET
The last time the Mastodons and Red Flash met was in 2019 due to the two team's matchup in 2020 being canceled. Fort Wayne leads the series 6-13 overall. 

The last time the teams met was the home of Purdue Fort Wayne in 2019, the Red Flash lost to Fort Wayne in a five-set match.

As far as a victory for the Red Flash over Fort Wayne, that last happened in 2017 in five sets as well.

UP NEXT
If Red Flash volleyball wins both matches against Purdue Fort Wayne this weekend, the team would move to a 3-3 overall record. After this weekend, the Red Flash will come back home for two weekend matches. First, against George Mason on Friday, Feb. 4 at 7:00 p.m. and second, against Princeton on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 6:00 p.m.
