LORETTO, PA: The Red Flash had an outstanding Saturday in the water being able to win their meet as they traveled to LIU to play the Sharks along with St. Peter's as well. The finish made it even more exciting in Long Island as it came down to the final relay race with the Red Flash securing 1st place by .17 seconds and a must have third place spot that was one by two one hundredths of a second.Â
Aurem Piffare led the way with two first place finishes in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle to get things started for Saint Francis. The Red Flash had the top three finishes in the 200 yard butterfly led by freshman
Sara Turner who secured first place.
Anna Bernasconi notched first place in the 50 yard freestyle with Krsyta Weik also securing first in the 200 yard breaststroke. The last race won for Saint Francis was a team effort as the relay squad of
Oksana Horova,
Aurem Pifarre,
Paige Bacigal, and
Anna Bernasconi helped the Red Flash close out the meet on top.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Pifarre finished the 500 yard freestyle with a quick time of 5:09.27 along with a speedy time of 10:44.76 in the 1000 yard freestyle race.Â
Turner secured first place with a time of 2:09.57 in the 200 yard butterfly.

Bernasconi beat out her own teammate
Paige Bacigal with a time of 24.97 in the 50 yard freestyle.Â
Weik also beat out her Red Flash teammater
Lizzie Smeltzer with a fast time of 2:30.18 in the 200 yard breaststroke.
The relay team of Saint Francis notched first place with a time of 1:40.01 in the 200 yard freestyle to close out the meet.
