Stats Perform Release

LORETTO, Pa. –
Saint Francis University football's Colt Jennings was named one of 15 finalists for the 2022 FedEx Ground Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award, Stats Perform/The Analyst announced on Wednesday.

The Doris Robinson Award is in its eighth season and presented to an FCS student-athlete who excels on the field, in the classroom, in the community and beyond. One player was selected from each conference in the FCS and Jennings earned the Northeast Conference representation. The recipient of the award will be announced on Dec. 12 and honored at the FCS National Awards banquet on Jan. 7 in Frisco, Texas.

Jennings, a redshirt sophomore, is a senior in academics and carries a 3.58 GPA in pursuit of his Bachelor of Science. He is studying Psychology with a concentration in Pre-Law and minoring in Sports Management. On the field, he has appeared in all-11 games with 11 total tackles and one sack as an outside linebacker.

In the community, Jennings started a charity called Nourish Kits, which helps fight hunger in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2021, the charity raised over $6,000 and provided 240 grocery store gift cards which were distributed to every student at Saint Francis Elementary in Cleveland, Ohio. So far this year, Nourish Kits has raised $2,300.

Jennings is also the President of Saint Francis' Uplifting Athletes Chapter, a nonprofit organization that helps raise money and awareness of rare disease. Saint Francis hosts its annual Life for Life, a fundraiser where family, friends and fans can donate based on number of bench press repetitions by the student-athletes.

Saint Francis now has a finalist in four of the five major awards presented annually in the FCS. Quarterback Cole Doyle is a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, presented to the top offensive player in the FCS, wide receiver Makai Jackson is a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, presented to the top freshman in the FCS and head coach Chris Villarrial is a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Award, presented to the national coach of the year in the FCS.
