LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's tennis sophomore
Bente Vandeputte was named a Northeast Conference Prime Performer for October, the conference announced Thursday.

Vandeputte, an Aarschot, Belgium native, had a 3-1 singles and earned one doubles victory in October. She earned two singles victories in Saint Francis' first head-to-head matches of the season. In the No. 2 spot, she won 6-1, 6-1 against Binghamton and 6-4, 6-1 against Buffalo.

She tied the women's tennis lead with an 8-6 singles record and was third on the team with seven doubles wins during the fall season. She had a dominant 5-2 doubles record when paired with
Kelly Dowuona.

Vandeputte joined Dowuona as the only other Red Flash women's player with a weekly award this fall. The selection is the first of Vandeputte's career.

Saint Francis' fall season concluded on Oct. 16 and the spring schedule will be released at a date to be determined.
