Track & Field Announces 2022-23 Schedule

LORETTO, Pa. -- Saint Francis University track and field head coach Douglas Hoover has announced the indoor and outdoor schedule for the 2022-23 season.
 
The teams will compete in seven indoor regular season meets and six outdoor regular season meets.
 
"I'm excited to get the season started and think that our schedule prepares us well for the conference championships," said Hoover.
 
The Bison Opener will kick off the Red Flash indoor track and field slate on Dec. 3 at the Gerhard Fieldhouse hosted by Bucknell University.
 
A month later the Red Flash will travel down the road to Penn State University for the Nittany Lion Challenge on Jan. 14 for their second indoor competition of the season. The Red Flash will return to Bucknell for the Gulden Invitational Jan. 21. To close out the month of January, the teams will split between the SPIRE Collegiate Invitational in Geneva, Ohio (Jan. 27) and the Penn State National in State College, Pa. (Jan. 27-28).
 
On Feb. 3-4, the Red Flash will compete at the VMI Winter Relays hosted by the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va. Following the Winter Relays, the teams will head to Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. to compete at the River Hawk Friday Night Showdown.
 
The Red Flash will then set their sights on the Northeast Conference Championships Feb. 19-20 at the Ocean Breeze Park Track and Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
 
The IC4A/ECAC Championships are scheduled for March 3-5 in Boston, Mass. Following the regional championships is the NCAA Division I National Championships which is scheduled for March 10-11 in Albuquerque, N.M.
 
The teams will open the outdoor season March 24-25 at the Trojan Challenge hosted by the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C.
 
The Red Flash will begin their April competition at the Virginia Triangular hosted by the University of Virginia April 1. A week later the teams will compete at the Juniata Invitational April 6. Saint Francis will then have a two-meet stand at Bucknell with the Bison Outdoor Classic (April 15-16) and the Bucknell Team Challenge (April 22). The Red Flash will close out the regular season at home with the Red Flash Open on April 29 at the Father Bede Track.
 
The Northeast Conference Championships will be contested on May 6-7, followed by the IC4A/ECAC Championships May 13-14.Those who qualify for the NCAA Division I East Preliminaries will compete May 24-27 in Jacksonville, Fla.
 
The top athletes from the East and West Preliminary Round sites will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas June 7-10.
