Stats Perform Release
LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University football's
Donnell Brown was named an FCS Third Team All-America selection, Stats Perform/The Analyst announced on Tuesday.
Makai Jackson and
Elijah Sarratt were named Freshman All-America.
Brown ranked fourth in the Northeast Conference with 14.5 tackles for loss and eight with 5.5 sacks. He led the NEC with three fumble recoveries and scored one touchdown at Norfolk State. He drew consistent double-team attention on a Saint Francis defense that gave up 21.5 points per game, which led the NEC and ranked 20th in the FCS.
He becomes the sixth Saint Francis player to earn a first, second or third team All-America selection from Stats Perform. The honor is Saint Francis' 27th first, second or third team All-America since 2007, which features 12 different players. On Nov. 23, Brown became the first NEC Defensive Player of the Year in program history. He was also a HERO Sports FCS Sophomore All-America selection on Dec. 8.
Jackson recorded 85 receptions for 991 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 2022. His receptions were tied for third in single-season program history, his yards were fourth and his touchdowns were tied for sixth. He led FCS freshmen with 7.1 receptions per game and 82.6 receiving yards per game.
He is now a two-time FCS Freshman All-America selection after he earned the honor on Dec. 8 from HERO Sports. He was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, presented to the top freshman in the FCS, and finished third in voting. On Nov. 23, Jackson became the first Saint Francis player to earn NEC Offensive Rookie of the Year since 2014.
Sarratt finished the 2022 season with 42 receptions, 700 yards and 13 touchdowns. His touchdowns tied EJ Jenkins' single-season program record set in 2019. He was named a HERO Sports Freshman All-America selection on Dec. 8 and an All-NEC First Team selection on Nov. 23.
In 2022, Saint Francis won its second NEC title in program history and went 7-0 in conference play, which was the ninth undefeated season in NEC history.
