Freshman Landon Moore (Bloomington, Ill./Western Reserve Academy), a member of the Saint Francis men's basketball team, has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week for the week of December 19-25. It is the second-straight week Moore has earned the honor the fourth time this season. In addition, Moore and redshirt junior Josh Cohen (Lincroft, N.J./Christian Bothers Academy) were named NEC Prime Performers.
 
Fresh off his career-best 25 points at No. 25 Miami on December 17, Moore notched his second game this season with 16 points after going 7-for-13 from the floor and 2 of 5 from behind the arc against Robert Morris on Wednesday. Moore also posted a then career-high 16 points against Butler on November 17. It was the eighth time this season the freshman has registered double figures and the fifth time he has tallied 15 points or more.
 
Moore ranks second in the league in assists (45), second in assists per game (3.83), second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.42), fifth in free throw percentage (81.1) and 13th in scoring (11.8 ppg.).
 
The freshman has won the award in back-to-back weeks twice this season. He started the year with consecutive honors for the weeks of November 7-12 and November 13-19 before taking home the recognition last week for the period of December 12-18.
 
Moore becomes the fourth Red Flash player to earn the top rookie of the week honor four times or more and the first since Keith Braxton in 2016-17. Braxton was named NEC Rookie of the Week seven times, while Darshan Luckey (eight times, 2002-03) and Devin Sweetney (four times, 2003-04) are the others that have taken home the honor four or more times.
 
Cohen finished the non-conference slate averaging 32.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game in his last three contests after tallying 28 points and a career-high 14 rebounds against Robert Morris on Wednesday. The redshirt junior shot 11-for-19 from the floor and 6 of 9 from the free throw line while grabbing seven offensive and seven defensive rebounds. It is the second time in his career that he has registered a double-double with a 20-point game after posting a then career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds against Merrimack on February 5, 2022. Cohen amassed a new career-high in rebounds after grabbing 12 rebounds twice in his career, including against Saint Vincent on December 8. The redshirt junior has reached double figures in all 13 of the non-conference games this season and his last 20 games dating back to last season. He also had six games with at least 20 points this season and nine tilts in his last 20 games. He also notched his third double-double of the season and third in his last five games. He is also the first player to register three-straight games of 20 points or more since Keith Braxton turned the trick in the 2019-20 season.
 
It is the seventh-straight week the Red Flash has earned a major weekly award, taking home one honor each week. Along with Moore's four recognitions, Cohen was named the NEC Player of the Week for the weeks of November 21-27 and December 5-12, while freshman Cam Gregory (Accokeek, Md.) was the top rookie for the week of November 28-December 4.

Cohen has been named an NEC Prime Performer for the seventh time this season (every week this season), while Moore earns his third honor and junior Maxwell Land (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named NEC Prime Performers twice this season.
