Men's Volleyball Hosts Queens and Visits Penn State

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Saint Francis University men's volleyball will be at home Friday, Feb. 18 to take on Queens University of Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. Followed by a road match on Saturday, Feb. 19 to State College, Pa., to face Penn State University at 7:00 p.m.
 
The Red Flash and Nittany Lions are both 4-0 in the EIVA. However, that will change on Saturday, Feb. 19 as Saint Francis University takes on Penn State University at the Rec Hall.
 
Friday's home match can be followed along with Live Stats and on NEC Front Row. While Saturday's match can be followed with Live Stats and on B1G+. 
 
THE WORD ON THE ROYALS
Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball are 6-5 overall this season. Most recently, the Royals claimed a victory over Tusculum University in straight sets.
 
The Royals had a matchup against fellow EIVA member, University of Charleston this season in which Queens won that match over four sets.
 
Daniel Leitao currently leads the Royals this season in kills and digs with 111 and 74, respectively. In the team's recent win over Tusculum, Jack Brinkman led the squad in aces and digs. While Leiato led the team in kills and blocks.
 
THE WORD ON THE NITTANY LIONS
Penn State University men's volleyball currently stands at 9-3 overall and 4-0 in conference. The Nittany Lions have won its last four matches in straight sets.
 
Most recently, the Red Flash defeated the Pioneers of Sacred Heart University. Cal Fisher led the squad with kills and aces in the match. While Will Bantle led in digs.
 
Fisher leads the EIVA in kills with 150 on the season. Bantle leads the conference in digs with 80 on the season.
 
The Nittany Lions currently rank first in the EIVA with the Red Flash coming in right behind.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash recently went 2-0 on the weekend to take down Sacred Heart University and Harvard University to go 4-0 in conference and 6-4 overall.
 
In the team's match against Sacred Heart University Thomas Leahey led the Red Flash in kills and blocks with 14 and four, respectively. While AJ Schmidt led his squad with kills and assists.
 
The Red Flash defeated Harvard University over four sets in its most recent game. Blake Liprando collected 20 kills and nine digs in the match. While Ryan Parker put up 41 assists for Saint Francis men's volleyball.
 
LAST TIME WE MET
The Red Flash and Royals have met four times with the Red Flash having the advantage in the overall record being 3-1. The last time Saint Francis and Queens competed was last season in a four-set match that the Red Flash won.
 
The last time the Red Flash and Nittany Lions met was last season on Feb. 6, the Red Flash lost the match in five sets. Saint Francis is 3-48 overall against Penn State. The last win the Red Flash had over the Nittany Lions was in 2017 over five sets.  
 
Saint Francis and Penn State men's volleyball programs both remain undefeated in conference at 4-0 until the match this Saturday is completed.
 
UP NEXT
After this weekend's matches, the Red Flash will hit the road for three matches on the weekend. First, to take on NJIT on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:00 p.m. Followed by St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 8:00 p.m. To finish the weekend off, Saint Francis men's volleyball will compete against the Sharks of Long Island University on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2:00 p.m.
