LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis takes a trip to Carnegie Mellon as the men play on Friday, Feb. 4 and the women play on Saturday, Feb. 5 before hosting Colgate on Sunday, Feb. 6.

Men's Last Time Out
Saint Francis lost 4-2 in their home opener against Longwood, though senior
Sebastian Pinos moved to 2-1 this spring season in No. 1 singles matches. His victory, 7-6, 7-6 over Rosen Naydenov was the first of two singles victories for the Red Flash.
Andrew Teixeira won his No. 2 singles match over Jourdan Kast 6-4, 7-6 to earn his first singles win of the season.

Daniel Vinces narrowly lost their matches, both by a 10-6 defeat in the third set.
Scouting Carnegie Mellon
Friday's match is the first of 15 regular-season matchups for the Tartans this season. Their young roster features one graduate student, one senior, one junior, seven sophomores and two freshmen. Sophomore Brandon Aprill led Carnegie Mellon during the ITA Southeast Regional in the fall as he advanced to the quarterfinals. He was an All-UAA selection at No. 2 singles during the 2020-21 season.

Matt Blose won in No. 6 singles 7-5, 6-7, 7-5 to earn the fourth singles win for Saint Francis. In doubles, Pinos and Vines took a No. 2 win 8-3.
Scouting Colgate
The Raiders open their season with a visit to Penn State on Friday and Saint Francis on Saturday. Colgate is led by three senior captains, Rohan Gupta, Nick Potter and Nate Romig. The rest of the roster is filled out by three juniors, one sophomore and five freshmen. The Raiders finished last year in the Patriot League semifinal with a 4-0 loss to Navy.
Last Match vs. Colgate
In the program's only match, played on Feb. 15, 2014, Colgate took a close 4-3 win over Saint Francis. The match came down to a No. 6 singles victory for the Raiders that clinched their victory. Colgate took the doubles point, while the team's split the singles matches evenly.

Scouting Carnegie Mellon
Saturday's matchup will mark Carnegie Mellon's second of the spring season after they play Slippery Rock on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Their roster consists of four seniors, two juniors, one sophomore and seven freshmen. The freshman duo of Crystal Zhou and Ava Givone advanced to the semifinals at the ITA Cup during the fall. Senior Lindy Cornwall and junior Bin Zheng lost in the quarterfinals.

The Red Flash fell to the Tartans in a tight 5-4 match.
Dominique Yeo was one of three Saint Francis players to win a singles match with her 7-5, 6-4 victory in No. 1 singles.

Romina Cutipa won in No. 3 singles 6-3, 7-6. Saint Francis lost two-of-three doubles matches, with the only victory from Cutipa and

Scouting Colgate
The Raiders will play their first match of the season when they visit the Red Flash on Sunday. Elizabeth Laub and Nicole Condas lead Colgate as senior team captains and look to lead the team to a top-four finish in the Patriot League. Freshman Addie Eklund and Jordan Ben-Shumel are both newcomers expected to compete for a spot in the team's top-four singles.
Last Match vs. Colgate
In the program's only matchup, played on Feb. 15, 2014, Saint Francis defeated Colgate 4-2. The Red Flash swept all-three doubles matches to earn the point before taking three singles matches to clinch the victory. Saint Francis clinched the match with its No. 5 singles win and moved them to 5-2 at the time of the victory.
