LORETTO, Pa.— Saint Francis University men's volleyball middle blocker
Joshua Blair (Matterson, Ill./ Marian Catholic) has been named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
This is the first EIVA weekly honor of the season for Blair and the third of his career.
The Matterson, Ill., native led his team to go 2-0 on the weekend and stay undefeated at home by taking down the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson University and claiming the victory over No. 13 Ohio State University. Blair led Saint Francis in kills in both matches for a combined 25 kills on the weekend.
Over the squad's seven sets this past weekend, Blair collected 36 total attacks, five block assists and three digs for 27.5 points.
Blair currently ranks third for the EIVA in hitting percentage at .407 coming right in behind fellow Red Flash team member,
Thomas Leahey (State College, Pa./State College Area).
Red Flash men's volleyball will hit the road this weekend for a match against George Mason University on Friday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m. Followed by a trip to Princeton, N.J., to take on the Tigers on Saturday, March 19 at 5:00 p.m.
