» Luke Minsky (Wexford, Pa.) carded two rounds of one over par or better to pace the Saint Francis University men's golf team at the Bash at the Beach hosted by Appalachian State on Tuesday.
» Minisky shot an even round of 71 in the first round and then had an 80 on the second round of the day on Monday. Minsky wrapped up the three-round event with a one-over par round of 72 to finish in 68th place with a score of 223. He registered six birdies in the tournament.
» Nathan Godbout (St. George, Vt.) shot the second-best round of the day after carding a three-over par round of 74 and finished in a tie with teammate J.W. Cunningham (McMurray, Pa.) with a three-round score of 228 in 77th place. Godbout was the only player on the team to post an eagle.
» The Red Flash placed 14th in the event.
FLASH MOMENTS
Along with Godbout's eagle, he posted two birdies in the final round and six during the two days, while Cunningham added to his team-high total of birdies with a total of nine in the third rounds after adding a pair of birdies on Tuesday.
Marc-Antoine Hotte (Mascouche, Quebec) (85th place, 232) and
Alex Kiepert (Ebensburg, Pa.) (90th place, 240) rounded out the Red Flash's team players. Hotte recorded three birdies on his final 18 holes and five in the two days, while Kiepert birdied the first hole in all three rounds among his five in the tournament.
Caleb DeBass (Forest, Va.) (96th place, 253) and A.J. Marasco-Keene (Altoona, Pa.) (97th place, 266) competed as individuals in the event. DeBass had a pair of birdies in the three rounds including one on the first hole.
Gregory Caldwell (Lilly, Pa.) played the first round and had a birdie on 17, but withdrew in the second round.
Troy won the event with a score of 828, two strokes ahead of host Appalachian State (830). LIU (835), Marquette (835) and UConn (836) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field. The Red Flash shot a 296 in the first round, 311 in the second round and a 303 in the final round to finish 14th with a three-round score of 910.
