» Marc-Antoine Hotte (Mascouche, Quebec) shot a one-over round of 72 to move up nine spots to pace the Saint Francis University men's golf team at the NKU The Jewell on Monday.
» After shooting a 76 in the opening round on Monday, Hotte posted birdies on No. 2, 8 and 12 while registering pars on 11 holes to end the competition with a two-round score of 148 in 17th place. He finished the two rounds with four birdies.
» A day after all five team players had at least one birdie, Luke Minsky (Wexford, Pa.) and J.W. Cunningham (McMurray, Pa.) each had two birdies in the final round, along with Alex Kiepert (Ebensburg, Pa.), who was playing as an individual in the event.
» The Red Flash finished eighth in the two-day competition.
FLASH MOMENTS
Cunningham registered birdies on holes No. 3 and 14 and finished the final round with a score of 76. Cunningham finished the event in 27th place with a two-day total of 151.
Minsky, who had birdies on No. 3 and No. 6, completed the round on Monday with a 78 to register a two-day total of 156 to finish in 48th place.
Nathan Godbout (St. George, Vt.) had a great start to the tournament with a three-over par before finishing the event in 56th place with a 159.
Avery Papalia (Marlton, N.J.) (77th place, 172) rounded out the team competitors.
Alex Kiepert notched his first birdie of the event on No. 7 and finished in 74th place with a 167.
Youngstown State won the two-day event with a score of 578, two strokes ahead of Purdue Fort Wayne (580). Northern Kentucky (586), Xavier (594) and Cleveland State (595) rounded out the Top—5 teams. The Red Flash finished eighth after rounds of 303 and 311 for a two-round score of 614.
