FLASH MOMENTS
Hotte is three-under par on the first nine holes after two days. He registered four birdies in the first round and then added a birdie on No. 2 and his second birdie on No. 8. He posted a bogey on No. 7, but then had a par on the other six holes on the front nine. While Hotte has his success on the first nine, he is shooting six-over par on the final nine. He had pars on 10, 14, 17 and 18, while posted a bogey on 11, 12, 13 and 16. He has seven birdies, 19 pars and 10 bogeys through two rounds.
After a first round 80, Minsky shot an even front nine and a one-over par back nine for a round of 73 to move into the Top-10 with a 153. He registered an eagle on No. 2, birdies on No. 4 and No. 14, 10 pars and five bogeys. For the tournament, Minsky has an eagle, third birdies, 20 pars, 11 bogeys and a triple bogey.
Avery Papalia (Marlton, N.J.) sits in 17th place with rounds of 79 and 76 for a two-round score of 155. He carded birdies on No. 13 and 18, 11 pars, four bogeys and a double bogey on Saturday. He has two birdies, 24 pars, nine bogeys and a double bogey through 36 holes.
J.W. Cunningham (McMurray, Pa.) (22nd place, 157) and
Nathan Godbout (St. George, Vt.) (32nd place, 164) round out the Red Flash competitors. Cunningham registered 11 pars, five bogeys and two double bogeys in the second round, and has four birdies, 19 pars, eight bogeys three double bogeys and a pair of triple bogeys. Godbout recorded a birdie on No. 6 on Saturday, along with 12 pars, four bogeys and a double bogey. He has a birdie, 21 pars, 10 bogeys and two double bogeys and two bogeys of three or more through 36 holes.
Sacred Heart and Mount St. Mary's are tied for the lead going into the final 18 holes with a two-round score of 603, five strokes ahead of Saint Francis (608). Fairleigh Dickinson (609), LIU (613), Bryant (622) and Wagner (639) round out the field.
FLASH NUGGETS
The Red Flash is looking for its fourth team title after winning the event in 2006, 2010 and 2013, which was also the last season Saint Francis finished in the Top-3 in the NEC Championships.
Hotte, who came into the second round with the lead, is looking to become the fifth different Red Flash player to earn medalist honors in the championships.
UP NEXT
Saint Francis will wrap up the Northeast Conference Men's Golf Championships on Sunday and will be paired with Sacred Heart and Mount St. Mary's. Godbout will be the first Red Flash player on the course at 9:20 a.m. and will be followed by Cunningham (9:30 a.m.), Papalia (9:40 a.m.), Minsky (9:50 a.m.) and Hotte (10 a.m.). The teams will tee off from the first tee.
