Saint Francis University men's volleyball will be at home for the final weekend of the 2022 season this weekend. The Red Flash squad look to earn a spot in the EIVA Tournament this weekend by taking on conference members NJIT on Friday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. and St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m.
Saturday's match to the Terriers will be Senior Night as DeGol Arena looks to honor

THE WORD ON THE HIGHLANDERS
The NJIT men's volleyball squad went 2-0 last weekend to defeat Sacred Heart University and Harvard University in straight sets. Julian Meissner earned EIVA Defensive Player of the Week after his grand weekend performance. In the team's match against the Pioneers, Meissner registered nine kills on an error-free 13 swings to seven digs and two blocks.
The Highlanders currently stand at second in the EIVA for an 8-4 conference record and 13-8 overall.
In the squad's victory over the Crimson, Meissner collected a single game-best with 14 kills. Followed closely behind was Carson Williams with nine kills and Alessandro Negri with six kills on the day for the Highlanders.
THE WORD ON THE TERRIERS
The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers stand at 10-11 overall and 4-8 in the EIVA. The Terriers most recently took a five-set thrilling loss to the Sharks of Long Island University. David Vorfi led the squad with 19 kills and notched one serving ace for the Terriers.
Nicola Iannelli leads the EIVA in digs with 197 on the season.
The Terriers will face Penn State University on Friday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. before heading to Loretto on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash went 1-1 last weekend after defeating Daemen University over four sets. The Wildcats claimed the first set over the Red Flash, but the Loretto, Pa., squad hustled back to claim the next three sets. This was Saint Francis men's volleyball's first victory since defeating the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
However, the Nittany Lions defeated the Red Flash over three sets. Despite the loss to Penn State, the Red Flash competed well with the Nittany Lions for an extended first set. In the team's loss to Penn State,
Blake Liprando recorded his 500th kill and 300th dig in Saturday's match.
In addition,
Nathan Zini led the Red Flash squad in kills for both matches last weekend and recorded a new single-game career best of 13 kills in the team's victory over Daemen.
Saint Francis men's volleyball currently stands at 6-7 in the EIVA and 13-11 overall.
LAST TIME WE MET
The last time the Red Flash and Highlanders faced one another was earlier this season in Newark, N.J. NJIT defeated Saint Francis on its home court in straight sets. NJIT holds the overall record between the two programs at 23-32.
The Terriers and the Red Flash last met earlier this season when the Red Flash collected a straight set sweep over St. Francis Brooklyn in N.Y. Saturday's match will only mark the third time the two programs have met. However, the Red Flash hold the advantage at 2-0 against the Terriers.

After this weekend's matches, the Red Flash will play in its final regular season match to the Golden Eagles of The University of Charleston on Saturday, April 16 at 4:00 p.m.
