LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis men's and women's track & field head coach Douglas Hoover announced the addition of former Red Flash jumper Jenna Beitel as a volunteer assistant track and field coach. Her main responsibility will be working alongside fellow assistant coach, DJ Horton, with the jumpers.
  
"We're fortunate that she's still local and able to provide her expertise and passion for our student athletes," Hoover said. "We're thrilled to have her presence on the staff and excited to see what she can do here as she starts her coaching career."
 
Beitel was a jumper for the Saint Francis track and field team from 2019-23. She currently is ranked third in program history in the indoor (37' 11.25")  and outdoor (38' 10.25") triple jump. She is also in the top-10 all-time in the indoor (17' 11") and outdoor (17' 11.75") long jump. 
 
She scored in all six Northeast Conference Championships she participated in during her four years. There were no outdoor championships during her freshman season (2019-20) and no indoor championships during her sophomore season (2020-21). 
 
"I've always been there to help the team and that's why I've always noticed I wanted to be a coach even before I graduated," Beitel said. "I know the staff and I talked about me coming back and helping to coach because I was always there to help everyone as an athlete. I just want to be able to see the team succeed. Knowing most of them and what they are like will help me to be able to coach them as well."
 
During Beitel's time as an undergraduate, she received her BS in General Engineering. She currently works as an engineer at Curry Supply in Hollidaysburg, Pa.

Beitel joins a coaching staff that, along with Hoover and Horton, consists of assistant coaches Chris Carper and Chris Frederick.
