Freshman Bobby Rosenberger III (Quakertown, Pa.), a member of the Saint Francis men's basketball team, has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week for the week of November 13-19. It is the freshman's first conference honor of his career.
 
Rosenberger, a 6-5 guard, notched a career-high 19 points and eight rebounds against Penn State on Tuesday night. The freshman shot 7-for-10 from the floor, 3 of 5 from behind the arc and 2 of 2 from the free throw line, including hitting 6-for-8 from the floor and 2 of 3 from 3-point land for 14 points in 13 minutes of action along with five rebounds in the second half. Both the points and rebounds are the most recorded by a Red Flash player this season.
 
The Quakertown native, has appeared in four games off the bench and is averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game this season. He is shooting 52.9 percent (9-for-17) from floor, 33.3 percent (3 of 9) from long range and 100 percent (2 of 2) from the charity stripe this season. The freshman made his collegiate debut against UCLA on November 6 and registered his first career rebound and assist before notching his first collegiate points at San Francisco on November 9.
 
Rosenberger becomes the 11th different player under head coach Rob Krimmel to be named the NEC Rookie of the Week and the 26th time overall in his 12 seasons as head coach. In addition, the freshman is the 19th different player and the 50th time in program history dating back to the 1998-99 season a player has bestowed the top rookie of the week honor.
 
Sophomore Cam Gregory (Accokeek, Md.) is the only other player on the 2023-24 roster that has earned a conference honor in his career. The sophomore was named the NEC Rookie of the Week last season after dropping a career-high 15 points at Ohio State on December 3, 2022.
 
Saint Francis returns to action on Monday when it opens its home schedule against Pitt Greensburg. Game time is 7 p.m.
