LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis both play two matches each, with the men's on Friday against Bucknell, women's on Saturday against Penn State and both teams on Sunday against Colgate.
Men's Tennis Quick Hits
Saint Francis holds a 2-2 record this spring and won its first conference match of the season 4-3 over Northeast Conference Preseason second-ranked St. Francis Brooklyn on Feb. 5.

Fabio Varella all won both their singles and doubles matches in the victory over the Terriers. Kush has won his last four matches between singles and doubles, while Varella has won back-to-back singles matches in the No. 1 slot.
Scouting Bucknell
The Bison holds a 1-4 record after their first win 5-2 over Drexel in the last match played. Harrison Gold leads Bucknell with a 3-2 record in No. 1 singles and Brendan McDonald holds a 2-2 record in No. 6 singles. Harrison Gold and McDonald lead the team with a perfect 3-0 record in No. 1 doubles.

Bucknell holds an 8-4 all-time advantage over Saint Francis since the first matchup in 2008. The Bison won the past three meetings after Saint Francis won all-four of its matches between 2014-18. Bucknell won last season's match with the only Red Flash win a 6-2, 6-1

Scouting Colgate
The Raiders holds an 0-3 record heading into the weekend against Duquesne on Saturday and Saint Francis on Sunday. Colgate took a 4-3 loss to Rider, 6-1 loss to Army and 5-2 loss to North Dakota.
All-Time vs. Colgate
Colgate holds a 2-0 all-time record over Saint Francis with wins 6-1 in 2022 and 4-3 in 2014. In last season's loss, Fuste earned the only Red Flash victory with a 6-2, 6-3 win in No. 3 singles.
Women's Tennis Quick Hits
Saint Francis enters the weekend with a 4-2 head-to-head record and won its first conference match of the season. 5-2 over St. Francis Brooklyn. The Red Flash dominated singles in the match with wins in No. 2-6.
Bente Vandeputte and
Valeria Vinces have both won their past three singles matches and Vandeputte owns a 5-1 singles record in Saint Francis' six head-to-head matches.
Scouting Penn State
The Nittany Lions hold a 4-3 record heading into the weekend and host Kentucky on Friday before Saturday's meeting with Saint Francis. Sofiya Chekhlystova leads Penn State with a 5-2 record in No. 1 singles, but she is yet to win a doubles match this season with an 0-5 record.
All-Time vs. Penn State
Saturday marks the first meeting between Saint Francis and Penn State in program history. The match will mark women's tennis' fourth against a Power Five opponent– the previous three all came against Pitt from 2011-13.
Scouting Colgate
Colgate enters the weekend, that features matches against Duquesne and Saint Francis, with a 2-1 record. The Raiders are 1-1 in the spring after a 5-2 win over Providence and 7-0 loss to Brown. The other Colgate victory came during the fall season on Sept. 14 in a 5-2 win over Le Moyne.
