Men’s and Women’s Tennis Prepare for Spring Break Matches

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis prepare for its 2023 spring break matches from March 12-16 in Hilton Head, S.C. Both teams are scheduled for three matches during the five-day period.
 
Men's Tennis Quick Hits
Saint Francis carries a 3-7 overall record and has dropped its last four matches. Adam Kush leads the Red Flash with a 5-5 singles record in dual matches and holds an even 2-2 record in the No. 1 match. Kush and Gregory Troyan are the top doubles pairing with a 4-6 record and are 4-2 in the No. 2 match.
 
Scouting George Mason
The Patriot hold a 2-3 record with a most recent 6-1 victory over former NEC member Mount St. Mary's. Niza Simunyola leads the team with a 4-1 dual match singles record and two other players have a 2-3 record. Simunyola and teammate Rishab Sardana hold a 3-1 dual record in doubles, all in the No. 2 match.
 
All-Time vs. George Mason
George Mason holds a 6-0 all-time advantage over Saint Francis since the first meeting in 2008. The last meeting between the programs was a 5-2 George Mason victory in 2014.
 
Scouting Charleston
The College of Charleston holds a 4-6 record, which includes a 7-0 sweep over NEC member Stonehill. The Cougars have won three of their last four matches heading into next week.
 
All-Time vs. Charleston
Wednesday's meeting between The College of Charleston and Saint Francis marks the first in program history.
 
Scouting Saint Louis
The Billikens own a 9-2 overall record and are 2-2 in their last four matches. Adam Behrun leads the team with a 7-1 overall singles record and Ryota Fukushima leads with a 5-0 record in the No. 1 match. The doubles team of Andres Castellanos and Luca Lo Nardo hold a perfect 6-0 record this spring.
 
All-Time vs. Saint Louis
Thursday's match between Saint Francis and Saint Louis marks the first in program history.  
 
Women's Tennis Quick Hits
Saint Francis holds a 7-5 record with a 6-4 record during the spring season. Bente Vandeputte leads the team with a 10-2 singles record, which includes a perfect 4-0 record in the No. 1 match. Valeria Vinces (7-3) and Anoek Pruijmboom (5-3) are the other two Red Flash players with an above-.500 singles record. Pruijmboom holds the best doubles record at 4-6.
 
Scouting George Mason
The Patriots hold a 4-2 overall record with one loss 4-1 against NEC member Fairleigh Dickinson. George Mason also has one victory over former NEC member Mount St. Mary's. The Patriots lost to another common opponent as the Red Flash, Navy, 7-0 on Feb. 12.
 
All-Time vs. George Mason
The Patriots own a 5-1 all-time advantage over the Red Flash since the first meeting in 2007. Saint Francis won the last meeting between the programs 5-1 in 2014 after dropping the first five.
 
Scouting Lafayette
The Leopards hold a 4-4 record, which includes a 6-1 loss to NEC member Sacred Heart. Lafayette has won three of its last four matches heading into spring break.
 
All-Time vs. Lafayette
Saint Francis holds a 2-0 all-time advantage over Lafayette with victories in 2016 and 2017. Both matches were won by a 6-1 margin.
 
Scouting Saint Louis
Saint Louis owns a 7-3 overall record with losses in its last two matches. Elizabeth Mintusova leads the team with a 7-1 singles record, which includes a 6-1 mark in the No. 1 match. Mintusov teams up with Ksenia Aleshina for a perfect 8-0 record in dual match doubles.
 
All-Time vs. Saint Louis
Thursday's match between Saint Francis and Saint Louis marks the first in program history.
