THE WORD ON THE NITTANY LIONS
Penn State comes into Saturday's contest nationally ranked at No. 2 with a 17-2 overall record. The Nittany Lions most recently competed in the Outrigger Challenge in Honolulu, Hawaii. The team dropped in five sets to nationally ranked UCLA, but defeated No. 1 Hawaii in four sets and Purdue Fort Wayne in straight sets. The team's only two losses this season have come to national ranked opponents.
 
LAST TIME WE MET THE NITTANY LIONS
The Red Flash and Nittany Lions last met earlier this season in Loretto, Pa. in a five-set thriller. Saint Francis claimed the first two sets, but the Nittany Lions were able to fight back for the reverse sweep over the Red Flash.
 
Penn State holds the overall advantage against Saint Francis at 51-3. The last time the Red Flash defeated the Nittany Lions was in 2017 over five sets in Loretto, Pa.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash most recently swept its competition in Charlotte, N.C., after defeating Queens on Wednesday and NJIT on Thursday. Both wins came in four sets for the Red Flash. In the team's most recent win over the Highalnders, Ryan Parker led the teams as the setter by notching 34 assists and added 6.0 total blocks. In addition, Blake Liprnado led the Red Flash in three statistical categories on Thursday with 14 kills, two service aces and seven digs.

Following Saturday's game against Penn State, the Red Flash will continue NEC action on the road by taking on D'Youville on Friday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m. and Daemen on Saturday, March 25 at 4:00 p.m.
