Josh Cohen (Lincroft, N.J.) has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference men's basketball all-first team, announced by the ECAC.
The redshirt junior scored double figures in all 31 games and registered 17 games with at least 20 points. He became the first player since Mike Iuzzolino to score 40 points in a game against Lehigh on November 21 and then joined the immortal Maurice Stokes as one of only two players to notch a pair of 40-point games in the same season after posting 40 points at Hawai'i on December 11. He also had an NEC career-high 31 points against FDU on February 23 and a 30-point game at No. 25 Miami on December 17. The redshirt junior also tallied five double-doubles that included a career-high 14 rebounds at Robert Morris on December 21.
"Another great honor for all of the success Josh had on the court this season," said head coach
Rob Krimmel.
On the single-season charts in program history, Cohen ranked second in field goals made (257) and fourth in both points (676) and free throws (162). He also became the 43rd player in program history to reach 1,000 points, 29th player with 500 rebounds and 20th player with 1,000 points and 500 rebounds, finish the season with 1,132 points and 533 rebounds for his career.
The ECAC honor joins postseason awards for Cohen after being named the Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Year and to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 15 team.
