Tyler Stewart Registers Nice Start To His Professional Career In Iceland

Tyler Stewart, a 2022 graduate of Saint Francis, finished up his first professional basketball season in Iceland second division. Stewart appeared in 29 games with his team, Sindri Karfa, and averaged 17.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Stewart will move to Austria's Basketball Superliga for his second professional season with the BBC Nord Dragons with the season beginning in October.
 
Stewart registered 10 games with at least 20 points, including posting 23 points and eight rebounds in an 85-80 win against Skallagrimur in his first professional game on September 30. He also scored over 25 points five times on the season with a career-best 30 points against Seifoss on March 3. In addition, Stewart had eight games with at least 10 rebounds, including a career-best 14 boards twice on the year. He finished with eight double-doubles on the year.  
 
Stewart shot 56.3 percent (143-for-254) from two-point range, 32.8 (39-119) percent from behind the arc and 84.8 percent (89-for-105) from the free throw line. He also had 92 assists, 52 steals and 28 blocks. 
 
Stewart appeared in 42 games with five starts at Saint Francis in two seasons (2019-21). He averaged 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while accumulating 24 assists, 10 blocks and 24 steals. He registered 15 games in double figures including a 20-point performance at Richmond on Nov. 8, 2019. Stewart averaged 8.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 2019-20 to help the Red Flash to the NEC Championship Game.
