THE WORD ON DOMINICAN
The Chargers are in its inaugural season of action. With the first two matches postponed due to inclement weather, Saturday will be their first game action in program history.
LAST TIME WE FACED THE CHARGERSÂ
Saturday's match will be the first matchup between the Red Flash and Dominican. It is also the first time that Saint Francis has played against an opponent from the East Coast Conference.
THE WORD ON CENTRAL STATE
The Marauders are in their third season of action.They are coming off a 2023 season where they finished 17-15, including a 8-2 record against the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). In the 2024 season thus far, Central State has an 0-3 record and have yet to take a set.
Ian Ford leads the Marauders in assists with 19 assists. Tyrone Sands has tallied the most kills with 13. On the defensive side, KJ Harrison has recorded a team-leading 13 digs.
LAST TIME WE FACED THE MARAUDERS
It will be the first time that the Red Flash is playing the Marauders. Saint Francis is facing off against a SIAC opponent for the first time as well. They will have two more matchups against the conference on March 5-6 against Edward Waters and Fort Valley State.
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash are currently 0-3 after a three-game road trip against three top-10 teams to start the season. The team took one set off of No. 4 Ohio State and No. 2 Long Beach State.Â
Four players received NEC weekly award recognition on Tuesday for their performances in the first three games. Nathan Zini was named NEC Player of the Week after tallying 31 kills, a hitting percentage of .371, and 12 digs. Peyton Blain was awarded NEC Defensive Player of the Week after recording an NEC-leading 30 digs. Ryan Parker and Andrew Deardorff each earned NEC Prime Performer selections.
Parker is 16 assists away from reaching 1,500 career assists, nearing a milestone of becoming the fourth men's volleyball player in program history to do so.
