Swimming to Host Millersville for Senior Day

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Women's swimming is facing Millersville in Stokes Natatorium at 1 p.m. on October 19.

>> The team's seniors will also be honored before the meet.

THE WORD ON MILLERSVILLE
This will be Millersville's first dual of the season. Last weekend, the Marauders competed in the PSAC Fall Invitational and the PSAC Sprint Frenzy, finishing third in the invitational and sixth in the sprint event.

Leah Eckert, Jewels Hepner, Jordan Plempel, Claire Weaver and Mackenzie Yosko are top performers for Millersville, already qualifying for the PSAC Championships.

LAST TIME WE MET THE MARAUDERS
The Red Flash are 2-0 against Millersville, having faced them in the last two seasons.

Last season, Saint Francis won 187-75 on the road, setting six pool records at Anttonen Natatorium in the 200-yard medley relay, 1000-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly, 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley.

Returning members that broke the records were Anna Bernasconi, Bridget Kurtzweil, Inde Patterson, Aurem Pifarre and Sara Turner.

LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis competed at the Colgate Invitational, finishing fourth of five teams.

The team finished in the top five in 10 events, including nine individual events and one relay.

Anna Vicent Serrano finished the 1650-yard freestyle in 18:14.99, good for fifth place.

Sara Turner won the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:37.21. Turner also made the top three in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:10.29 and earning third place. In the 200-yard individual medley, the junior took fifth at 2:13.68.

Taylor Weth placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.07. She also finished fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:28.62.

In the 50-yard freestyle, the Red Flash had two in the top five. Oksana Horova finished fourth at 24.79 and Anna Bernasconi took fifth with a time of 24.99.

Aurem Pifarre earned fifth in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:15.80.

A relay of Horova, Katie Webster, Kathryn Tanis and Bernasconi finished fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:39.98.

Taylor Weth was named NEC Rookie of the Week for her performance in the meet. She and Sara Turner also earned NEC Prime Performer.

UP NEXT
Saint Francis will compete against Niagara on November 2 at 2 p.m. in Stokes Natatorium. The meet will also recognize alumni and celebrate 30 years of women's swimming at Saint Francis.
