LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University football quarterback
Jeff Hoenstine was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Markell Holman added an NEC Prime Performer selection.

Hoenstine went 10-of-18 for 117 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saint Francis' 28-17 comeback victory over Delaware State. He added three rushes for 25 yards. Hoenstine's one-yard touchdown pass to
Gavin Thomson with 5:38 remaining in the game ignited a 22-point output in the final six minutes of the game.

The redshirt freshman is now 2-1 as a starter and 2-0 in games he finishes – he left in the fourth quarter of Saint Francis' loss to CCSU. Hoenstine has a 58.9 completion percentage with 424 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and adds 64 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

Holman rushed 22 times for 182 yards and two touchdowns in the victory over Delaware State. He recorded 143 of his rushing yards during Saint Francis' 22-point fourth quarter. His rushing yards were the most in a game since Marcus Bagley's 220 on Sept. 17, 2016. Holman now ranks fifth in the NEC with 336 rushing yards this season.

The Rookie of the Week selection is Hoenstine's second of the season. Holman's Prime Performer honor was the first of his career and he became the eighth different Red Flash player with an NEC weekly honor this season.
