Former Saint Francis men's basketball standout Myles Thompson has signed a professional contract with Chaux Sports in the Ivory Coast in Africa. The 2023 Saint Francis graduate averages 10.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in his first three professional games with the team.
Thompson played for the Red Flash from 2018-22, finishing his time in Loretto with 948 points and 456 rebounds. He was on the 2022-23 team but missed the season due to injury. The New Jersey native appeared in 33 games with 14 starts in his freshman year, averaging 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. The Frankies won the Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season crown and advanced to the NEC Championship Game before playing in the National Invitation Tournament at Indiana to end the season. Thompson ranked third on the team in his sophomore year with 10.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, helping the Flash return to the NEC Championship Game for the second straight season. That season, he posted a career-high 23 points at Florida State on November 23, 2023. He averaged 10.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game as a junior and 11.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in his senior campaign. Thompson almost single-handedly put Saint Francis on his back in a come-from-behind win on an NEC broadcast against CCSU with 15 of his 21 points in the second half to erase an 11-point deficit in a 68-67 win on January 21, 2022.
