The Northeast Conference (NEC) announced its 2024-25 television package, and the Saint Francis men's and women's basketball teams will each be featured once in an NEC telecast.
The Red Flash women's basketball team will kick off the NEC's 10-game television package when it hosts Wagner on Monday, January 20, at 7 p.m. The game will be on ESPN+, YES, Pittsburgh Sports Net, NESN Nation, Â and NEC Front Row. NESN Nation is a FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) channel that is distributed across free live channels on streaming platforms such as Google TV, Roku Channel, Pluto TV, Freevee, FUBO, and Tubi, among others, that can accessed on your smart TV.
Saint Francis men's basketball will make its first trip to Chicago State on Saturday, February 8, and that battle will be an ESPN+ exclusive broadcast. Tipoff is 1 p.m. CST/2 p.m. EST.
The NEC will also air the NEC Semifinals on ESPN+, Pittsburgh Sports Net, and NESN+/NESN Nation. The tilts may also air on YES, pending the New York Yankees spring training television schedule. The semifinals will be Saturday, March 8 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. at the two highest remaining seeds. The Men's Basketball NEC Championship Game will be on Tuesday, March 11, on ESPN2.
The NEC Women's Basketball Semifinals will follow the same formula as the men with games on Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m. at the two highest remaining seeds. The YES network would air one semifinal game live and the other on tape, pending the Yankees spring training television schedule. The NEC Women's Basketball Championship will be on Sunday, March 16, at noon at the highest remaining seed on ESPNU.
Both the Red Flash men's and women's basketball teams will be a part of the upcoming NEC Tournament in March. All eight eligible teams will participate in this year's NEC Tournament. Starting in the 2026-27 season, Mercyhurst will be eligible to compete in the NEC postseason.
If Le Moyne or Stonehill, both reclassifying institutions, wins the NEC Tournament championship, the tournament runner-up will advance to the NCAA Tournament as the NEC's automatic qualifier, per current policy. In instances where two reclassifying members reach an NEC final in men's and women's basketball, the NEC will stage an "AQ Qualifier" game between the two non-advancing semifinal teams. This will serve as a decisive game to determine the team securing the NEC's spot in the NCAA Tournament.
