Men’s Volleyball To Travel To Purdue Fort Wayne For First February Road Trip

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 
>>Saint Francis men's volleyball will travel to Purdue Fort Wayne for the first of 10 straight road matches Friday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m.

THE WORD ON PURDUE FORT WAYNE
The Mastodons currently boast a 4-3 record, including a 3-1 win over Sacred Heart on Jan. 12. Against NJIT the following night, Purdue Fort Wayne had a 2-0 lead, but proceeded to drop the final three sets to lose in five.

Jon Dietrich leads Purdue Fort Wayne in kills with 89. The setter, Andrej Polomac, is 14th in the NCAA in assists with 244 and also leads the team in digs with 34. Polomac, Bryce Walker, and Kaden Fosdick all contribute with the blocks on the defensive end with 16 apiece.

LAST TIME WE MET THE MASTODONS
The last time Saint Francis and Purdue Fort Wayne faced off was in 2022, where the two teams split the season series. The 3-2 win on January 29, 2022 saw Ryan Parker record 29 assists and Trevor Lewis tallying nine kills and three total blocks. The Mastodons lead the all-time series, 14-7.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash are currently 3-4 on the season. Last weekend saw the team drop a five-set match against NJIT on Jan. 26, but pick up a straight set win against the Queens on Jan. 28. The win over the Royals saw Andrew Deardorff tally 10 kills as the offense posted a season-best .415 hitting percentage.

Parker showed out for Saint Francis, recording 67 assists, 17 digs, nine kills, five total blocks, and four service aces. Nicholas Lynch had himself a great weekend as well, tallying 15 kills on 17 attacks to go along with six total blocks. Both were named as Northeast Conference Prime Performers for their performances.

Nathan Zini leads Saint Francis with 63 kills and 14 service aces. The aces are currently the most in the NEC also. Parker has been the engineer of the offense as the setter with 195 assists, leading both the team and NEC. 

On the defensive side, Peyton Blain remains the catalyst with an NEC-leading 63 digs so far. Sam Lane, one has led the Red Flash with 16 total blocks.

Men's Volleyball will take on Charleston (Wv.) Golden Eagles in two matches on Feb. 9-10 at 6:00 p.m.
