Kyle Spencer leads LIU's offense with 82 kills. The setter duo of Jack Sarnowski and Roei Horovitz are the facilitators with 157 and 140 assists each respectively.
Arthur Sueur commands the defense with a team-leading 36 total blocks, the most in the Northeast Conference. Liberos Gio Collazo and Joseph Nunez are a dynamic duo with the digs, with Collazo contributing 53 and Nunez adding on 51.
THE LAST TIME WE FACED THE SHARKS
The 2023 season saw the two teams play three times, with Saint Francis going 1-2 in the matchups. The Red Flash's 3-0 win on April 8 at Degol saw Andrew Deardorff tally 13 kills and Ryan Parker posting an all-around game of 41 assists and seven digs. The last matchup between the two squads came in the NEC Championship, where the Sharks won in straight sets.
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash are 5-5 after sweeping the season series against the Charleston Golden Eagles last weekend. Saint Francis took a 3-0 win on Feb. 9 and won again the following night, 3-1. In the first match, the defense held the Golden Eagles to 28 kills and a .160 hitting percentage, both season-lows.
Nathan Zini had a dominant weekend, posting 37 kills, seven service aces, and six digs through both matches. He was named Off the Block National Opposite of the Week and NEC Prime Performer for his performances. Peyton Blain earned Prime Performer as well after registering 25 digs across both matches, including a career-high 17 on Friday.
In Elijah Lazor's first set of starts since Jan. 10, he recorded eight total blocks combined. He tallied seven in Saturday's match.
Zini leads the team with 148 points, 119 kills, 24 service aces, and a .380 hitting percentage. His aces lead the Northeast Conference as well. Ryan Parker as the distributor of the offense has had 330 assists so far on the season, good for the best on Saint Francis and in the conference.
Peyton Blain commands the defense with 103 digs, the most on the team, NEC, and across Division-I and II men's volleyball. Sam Lane continues to be a wall in the middle with 25 total blocks.
