Blain Named Off the Block National Libero of the Week

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis men's volleyball player Peyton Blain has earned Off the Block National Libero of the Week for his performances against Daemen over the weekend, the blog announced Monday.

The Red Flash are 6-0 in the NEC after two 3-1 wins on Mar. 22-23 over the previous No. 1 team.

Blain tallied 32 digs overall in the two matches. The senior libero recorded 17 on the 22nd and followed it up with 15 on the 23rd. He did not record a reception error in the second match and was the catalyst behind a Red Flash defense that held the Wildcats' offense to hitting percentages of .210 and .211.

On the season, Blain has racked up the most digs across Division-I and II men's volleyball with 247. This includes notching 15 matches posting a double-digit total in the stat. According to the record books, he is 21 away from achieving the most single-season digs by a Saint Francis player in program history. Zach Nanni currently holds the record with 267 in 2007.

The Harrisburg, Pa. native will look to surpass the record in one of the two matches against Merrimack this week on Mar. 28-29. Both matches start at 6:00 p.m.
