Men's and Women's Tennis Prep For Final Regular Season Matches

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis will play three total matches from Apr. 6 to Apr. 7. The men will host Binghamton in a crucial conference clash on Saturday at Ebensburg Tennis Center, then both teams will head out to Pittsburgh to play Duquesne in their regular season finales. 

Men's Tennis Quick Hits 
Saint Francis enters their matches this week at 10-5 on the season and are a perfect 5-0 in the NEC so far. They are winners of their last five matches. Alan Gonzalez leads the Red Flash in singles competition this year with a 19-6 record and is third in the NEC in singles wins. 

Tyler Nguyen holds the next best singles record for Saint Francis at 14-7, and won NEC Rookie of the Week this past week. 

Kevin Kruzel leads the Red Flash in doubles play with a 17-6 record on the year. 

The Red Flash are unbeaten at home this season, and if Saint Francis defeats Binghamton on Saturday, they clinch the No. 1 seed in the NEC Championships. 

Scouting Binghamton 
The Bearkats are 11-9 overall and 6-1 in the NEC. The Bearkats are second in the NEC behind the Red Flash. 

Felipe Costa is the top singles player for Binghamton with a 23-8 record on the year. He has the most singles wins in the conference. Ronin Lotlikar is right behind him with a 21-12 singles record this season. 

Lotlikar and Kyle Weekes are the top doubles team for the Bearkats at 9-5 on the campaign. 

All-Time vs. Binghamton 
Saturday's matchup will mark the first time Binghamton and Saint Francis have ever met. 

Scouting Duquesne 
The Dukes are 6-7 on the season and 5-1 at home. Duquesne is 2-1 against common opponents. They beat Colgate and Carnegie Mellon, but lost to Bucknell. They will have played a match against Binghamton  

All-Time vs. Duquesne  
Saint Francis trails Duquesne 6-1 in the all-time series, with their last win coming in 2017.  

Women's Tennis Quick Hits 
Saint Francis heads into the weekend with an even 10-10 record on the year and a 4-1 record in the NEC. Diana Zuba currently leads the Red Flash and holds the lead in the Northeast Conference in singles wins with a 20-6 record on the year. Zuba is 13-3 from the No. 1 position in dual matches this season and has won nine of her last ten singles contests. 

Kelly Dowuona has 13 singles wins on the season as well. 

Dowuona leads the team in doubles wins on the season with a 16-10 record. Sara Jankovic and Reagen Mangan are right behind her with a 14 and 13 doubles wins respectively.  

Scouting Duquesne 
The Dukes enter the match at 5-10 on the year and are 4-1at home. 

Mila Badics is the top singles player for Duquesne at 8-7 on the 2024 campaign. Badics and Jasa Roka are the top doubles tandem for the Dukes, sitting at 8-5 for the year. 

Duquesne is 2-2 against common opponents, defeating Colgate and Bucknell, and losing to Western Michigan and Buffalo. The Red Flash will be the first NEC opponent for the Dukes this season 

All-Time vs. Duquesne 
Saint Francis is 0-8 all-time against Duquesne. The Dukes won last year's meeting 4-2.

Next 
Both Red Flash squads will head to New Jersey for the NEC Championships from Apr. 12 through Apr. 14.
