Women's Swimming to Face Lock Haven in Final Dual Meet of the Season

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

THE WORD ON LOCK HAVEN
Lock Haven is 2-3 in dual meets this season. The Bald Eagles most recently competed in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational and the PSAC Last Chance Meet on Jan. 18.

Top competitors for Lock Haven include Madison Bortner, Alaina Cane, Holly Cleworth and Sydney Houck.


LAST TIME WE MET THE BALD EAGLES
The Red Flash are 3-0 against the Bald Eagles, beating them 161-68 in last year's Senior Day meet.

Saint Francis won 12 out of the 14 events in the meet.

Saint Francis earned a first-place finish in the opening event of the day with Inde Patterson, Oksana Horova, Laryssa Webster and Kathryn Tanis finishing the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:49.76.

Aurem Pifarre earned a first-place win in the 1000-yard freestyle, clocking in at 10:43.08.

Sara Blanco picked up another win for the Red Flash in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.84.

Krysta Weik won the 50-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 30.97.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Sara Turner won with a time of 59.79.

Anna Bernasconi took first place in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 24.49. Later in the meet, she also won the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 25.84.

Nicole López Kohlmann finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.60.

Marija Dodik won the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:00.96.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Julia Springer earned first place with a time of 5:53.19.

Amalia Bradburn finished first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:15.00.

The Red Flash came out on top in the final event of the day, winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.92. McKenzie Watt, Lizzie Smeltzer, López Kohlmann and Bernasconi made up the winning relay.


LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis competed in a quad-meet hosted by VMI last weekend, defeating VMI and falling to American and Howard. The Red Flash took home first in _ events.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Aurem Pifarre won with a time of 1:56.40. The senior also won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:10.24.

Oksana Horova won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.20.

Kurtzweil finished first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.84.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Kathryn Tanis finished first with a time of 2:28.54.

Pifarre was named a Prime Performer for her performance in the meet.



UP NEXT
Saint Francis will compete in the Western PA Invitational on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 before preparing for the Northeast Conference Championships.
