FLASH MOMENTS
The Red Flash got off to a strong start in distance action, with
Morgan Moniz (7th, 18:54.22) and
Taylor Weth (8th, 19:15.04) both earning top-eight finishes in the 1650-yard freestyle.
Turner led the team with a runner-up finish in the 400 IM (4:37.06) and later added a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:12.13).
Rubio claimed third place in the 100 backstroke (58.98), while
Kathryn Tanis (1:08.03) and Weth (1:08.11) placed seventh and eighth respectively in the 100 breaststroke.
The sprint group rounded out the session with a strong showing in the 50 free, where Tanis (25.26),
Reegan Brown (25.33), and Rubio (25.50) all placed in the top 10.
FLASH NUGGETS
Sara Turner led the way for the Red Flash with two top-five finishes on the opening day, taking second in the 400 IM and fourth in the 200 butterfly, continuing her strong start to the 2025–26 season after being one of the Red Flash's top scorers a year ago.
Freshmen
Ava Bosetti and
Ella Anderson both recorded their first invitational points, marking solid early contributions in their collegiate debuts.
Rubio and Tanis continued to anchor key events, adding experience and consistency to the lineup.
