LORETTO, Pa. – Following a dominant team victory at Millersville, three members of the Saint Francis women's swimming program have been recognized by the NEC as Prime Performers. Senior Sara Turner (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro), sophomore Taylor Weth (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central), and sophomore Maura Rubio (Meadville, Pa./Reach Cyber Charter) each earned weekly honors after delivering standout performances that helped the Red Flash start off 1–0 in dual meet action.
Rubio continued her strong start to the season, winning both the 100 and 200 backstroke events while setting a pool record in the 100 back with a time of 58.40. Her performance also contributed to Saint Francis' opening relay victory in the 200-medley relay (1:49.92). The sophomore has now collected two victories through the first two meets of the season and earned NEC Prime Performer honors for the second straight week.
Weth matched that dominance in the breaststroke, sweeping both the 100 and 200 events at Millersville. Her 100-breaststroke time of 1:06.87 also established a new Anttonen Natatorium pool record. This marks the first NEC Prime Performer recognition of her collegiate career.
Turner added depth and consistency for the Red Flash, capturing victories in the 500 freestyle (5:19.41) and 200 IM (2:12.84) while taking second in the 200 freestyle (1:58.34). The senior continues to pace Saint Francis in mid-distance events and remains a steady leader in the program's early-season success. This also marks Turner's second consecutive week earning NEC Prime Performer honors.
The three Prime Performer selections mark the second straight week multiple Saint Francis swimmers have been honored by the NEC.
Saint Francis returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 25, traveling to Brooklyn, N.Y., for a tri-meet against LIU and Manhattan at the Steinberg Wellness Center.
