TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Wernicke's late finish proved to be the difference-maker, giving Saint Francis breathing room after LIU had cut the deficit to one before halftime. His first career goal capped off an electric offensive showing and ensured the Red Flash stayed perfect in NEC competition.
Alex De Nittis struck first in the fifth minute off an Andre Isreal assist, followed by Thero Mitchell III scoring his second straight NEC goal from Nathan Katari.
Jonah Wolf made it 3-0 on a rebound before LIU pulled two back late in the half, but Mika Wernicke's second-half finish from De Nittis sealed the 4-2 win.
