Maura Rubio, Sara Turner, and Taylor Weth, members of the Saint Francis women's swimming team, have been named NEC Prime Performers for the week of November 17-24. The trio was instrumental in the Red Flash success in the 2025 Liberty University TYR '85 Invite over the weekend competing against Ohio U, Liberty, Campbell, Georgia Southern, UNC Asheville, UNC Pembroke (DII) and California (Pa.) (DII).
Rubio registered four Top-10 finishes, placing ninth in the 100 back (56.32), 11th in the 200 back (2:03.37) and 22nd in the 50 free (24.33), individually, and sixth in the 4x50-free relay (second leg, 1:37.09), eighth in the 4x50-medley relay (first leg, 1:45.46) and ninth in the 4x100-free relay (third leg, 3:34.34). The Red Flash finished fifth as team.
Turner registered four Top-10 finishes including the best individual finish for the team at the three-day event. Turner was third in the 400 IM (4:26.06), eighth in the 100 breast (1:06.51) and ninth in the 200 IM (2:06.08) individually and was a member of the sixth place 4x200-free relay (first leg, 7:57.00), 11th in the 4x50-free relay (first leg, 1:41.87) and 15th in the 4x50-medley relay (first leg, 1:56.25). Saint Francis as team finished fifth. Her times in the 200 IM and 400 IM are currently the best marks in the NEC.
Weth registered four Top-10 finishes and seven Top-15 finishes. Weth placed fifth in the 100 breast (1:03.54), seventh in the 200 breast (2:22.18) and 13th in the 200 IM (2:07.60) individually, and was a member of the eighth place 4x50-medley relay (second leg, 1:45.46), ninth place 4x100 free relay (fourth leg, 3:34.34), 11th place 4x50 free relay (second leg, 1:41.87) and 14th in the 4x100 free relay (second leg, 3:43.48). The Red Flash finished fifth as a team.
Saint Francis will take some time off before ramping up training in January with a training trip to Florida. The Red Flash will compete in the St. Petersburg Classic Relays on January 4.
