Saint Francis women's soccer players Riley Cerqua, Raine Korpics, Mercedez Paino, Lauren Persichetty, Emma Sawich, and Caterina Schiavo were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the association announced Tuesday.

The six players recognized ties the mark for the most in program history, with that mark being set during the 2023 season.

College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. In order to be eligible to earn a CSC Academic All-District selection, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, own a grade point average above 3.50 and must compete in 90 percent of contests or start in at least 66 percent of contests.

Cerqua, a Biology major, maintained a GPA of 3.573. The junior from Pittsburgh, Pa., competed and started in all 18 matches of the 2025 season and registered 1,551 minutes on the pitch. Following her third season, she has registered career totals of 2,523 minutes, 44 games played, one assist, and nine shots on goal.

Korpics, a Physicians Assistant Sciences major, maintained a GPA of 3.746. The senior has now been named a CSC Academic All-District selection for the second consecutive year. The Walnutport, Pa. native started all 18 matches this season registering a career-high of 1,449 minutes. During the 2025 season, she recorded 31 shots on goal, and matched her career-high for points in a season with seven from three goals and one assist. She finished her collegiate career with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points.

Paino, a Nursing major from Langhorne, Pa., maintained a 3.693 GPA. The junior has now been named a CSC Academic All-District selection for the second consecutive year. She recorded 16 starts with 16 games played, one assist for one point, and 10 shots on goal for the 2025 season.

Persichetty, a gradate student receiving her Masters of Business Administration, held a 3.826 GPA. This is the second time she has been named a CSC Academic All-District, the last time being in 2023. The Staten Island, N.Y. native made her return to the pitch after not appearing in a match during the 2024 season due to an injury. She started all 18 matches recording a career-high of 1,429 minutes. Throughout her career, she recorded six goals and three assists for 15 points, and 29 shots on goal through 66 games played.

Sawich, a graduate student in the Physical Therapy program, maintained a 3.617 GPA. She has now been named a CSC Academic All-District selection for the second consecutive year. The McMurray, Pa. native was named second team All-NEC for her final season. Sawich also was named NEC Prime Performer twice this season, once being after her career-high of 16 saves during the Bucknell match. She recorded a career-high of 136 saves during the regular season and was first in the nation for total saves for NCAA Division I. Throughout her career, she has recorded 283 saves in 45 games played and 3,795 minutes between the posts, as well as five shutouts in goal.

Schiavo, a Molecular Biology major from Sicklerville, N.J., held a 3.533 GPA. The junior recorded 726 minutes the 2025 season, making appearances in all 18 games and starting three. She registered five shots on goal with two assists for five points. Throughout her three seasons played, she recorded career totals of 38 games played, 12 shots, and one goal and two assists for four points.

Persichetty, Sawich, Paino, and Korpics join Lauren Pyle (2022-2024) and Savannah Schoonmaker (2023-2024) on the list of Saint Francis women's soccer CSC Academic All-District members who have earned this accolade two or more times.

Academic All-District honorees will be evaluated by a CSC sub-committee to determine their candidacy for the Academic All-America ballot. All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
