>> Saint Francis men's volleyball will play in their first home season series of the 2025 campaign when they take on Dominican University of New York Feb. 21-22.

THE WORD ON DOMINICAN
Dominican is 1-11 on the season and have been swept in their season series against Northeast Conference (NEC) opponents Daemen and LIU as well as losing 3-0 to D'Youville. In their first matchup against the Sharks on February 13, the Chargers were able to push the match to five sets before falling short. Along with the three teams mentioned, Dominican has played four top-20 opponents in their opening slate.
Outside hitter
Blake Krapf, who transferred from Saint Francis after one year, has led the squad with 81 kills. Setter Jamel Toste commands the offense with 243 assists. Krapf, Toste, and Tommaso Falchi are tied for a team-best five service aces.
On defense, libero Tyler Roukey has collected 52 digs. Toste is only three behind with 49. Around the net, Daniel Malcolm leads the way with 23 total blocks.
LAST TIME WE MET THE CHARGERS
The Dominican men's volleyball program is in their second season of existence. The two teams faced each other on January 20, 2024 at the same venue in what was the Chargers' first ever match. Saint Francis picked up their first win of the 2024 season with a sweep.
The Red Flash will be playing another East Coast Conference (ECC) opponent in Roberts Wesleyan on March 15.
LAST TIME OUT
Saint Francis dropped both of their matches to now No. 19 Penn State in a home-and-home series Feb. 14-15. It is the eighth top-20 opponent the Red Flash have faced this season.
Andrew Deardorff claimed his third First Point/NEC Player of the Week and fourth prime performer of the season after tallying 29 kills (4.8 per set), five digs, three assisted blocks, two aces and two assists between both matches. The senior outside hitter's best performance came in the home opener against the Nittany Lions, where he recorded 20 kills, .378 hitting percentage, three digs, two aces, and two blocks. It was the second-straight match where he registered 20 kills after posting a career-high 26 versus Lincoln Memorial on February 1.
Kyle Charles earned his fourth First Point/NEC Rookie of the Week honor and third prime performer after totaling 63 assists (10.5 per set), four digs, four assisted blocks, three kills, and two aces combined between the two matches. In the first match of the home-and-home series on the 14th, the freshman setter posted 39 assists and two kills as he led the Red Flash offense to 44 kills. He also notched four digs and three blocks on defense. In the second match, he set a new career high in aces with two.
Richard Kaminski and
Cole Dorn continue to be the starting libero duo and are up to 39 and 38 digs, respectively. Deardorff is tied with Dorn for second in digs.
Sam Lane has compiled a team-high 23 blocks and has been an efficient source of offense by collecting 48 kills on a .404 hitting percentage. One of his best offensive performances came on the 14th, when he posted eight kills and a .636 hitting percentage.
