THE WORD ON D'YOUVILLE
D'Youville is 5-8 on the season and will also be competing in their first conference matches this weekend. The Saints are 3-1 against opponents that Saint Francis has played this season. Two of their three victories came in 3-2 decisions versus Roberts Wesleyan and the other was a sweep over Dominican (N.Y.) on January 25. The latest win over the Redhawks came in their last contest on March 17.
Ian De Wilde leads the offensive attack with 128 kills and 15 service aces. Setter Randy Adorno commands the offense with 328 assists.
De Wilde and Adorno also provide a team-most 64 digs on the defensive side. In the middle is Tymek Brzoza, who has registered 44 blocks (9 solo).
THE LAST TIME WE MET THE SAINTS
This weekend's matches will be the 14th and 15th time the two schools have faced off dating back to 2001. It will be the second year that they'll be playing each other as NEC foes. The Red Flash are 11-2 all-time in the matchup.
The two battles on April 4-5 of the 2024 campaign saw the Red Flash secure two 3-1 wins over the Saints at Saints Center. The two victories helped them secure their second-straight NEC Regular Season title.
