Track & Field To Participate In IC4A/ECAC Championships

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis track & field will compete at the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. May 16-18. It will be held at George Mason Stadium.

>> Men's hammer throw will begin the weekend events on the 16th at 4:30 p.m. Women's hammer throw will commence the following day at 10:30 a.m. For the final day on the 18th, men's discus will kick off the events at 10:00 a.m.

>> Twenty-eight athletes (16 men, 12 women) will participate in the Championships.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash last competed at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships hosted by Stonehill College on May 3-4. The women finished fourth with 121 points, and the men took fifth with 91. Four athletes nabbed an individual NEC title and nine total placed in the top-3 of their respective events.

Julian Saunders took first in the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.50 and clocked in a 21.00 time in the 200-meter dash to accumulate two gold medals. The senior's time in the 200-meter is a new school record and personal best. He picked up his third and fourth conference title overall.

Clark Gulycz continued his stellar rookie season with another gold medal in the men's shot put with a throw of 17.16m. He collected a first place finish with a 16.75 mark at the indoor championships back in February.

Carly Sedun went back-to-back at the Outdoor Championships in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 50.21m.

Tyler Craft was named an NEC Men's Co-Most Outstanding Field Performer in jumps for his third place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 14.29m. The freshman took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.98m as well.

RED FLASH AT IC4A/ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS HISTORY
At the 2024 IC4A/ECAC Championships, the men's team finished 23rd out of 36 teams with 11 points. The women placed 27th out of 38 teams with five points.

David Niang became the IC4A champion in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.92.

In the throws, Sedun picked up a seventh place finish in hammer throw with a mark of 51.23. Cam Wagner finished eighth in men's discus with a toss of 45.29m.
