Sofia Marciano, a sophomore midfielder for the Saint Francis field hockey team (from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Del Viso Day School), has been named NEC Offensive Player of the Week. This marks her first time receiving this honor this season and the first in her career.
Over the past weekend, the underclassmen had a fantastic, trophy-worthy match against Stonehill. During the Sunday Matinee against Merrimack, Marciano broke the program record for the most single goals in a game, scoring six of the goals in the 7-0 victory.
Mia DiGenova, a Junior goalkeeper for the Saint Francis field hockey team from King of Prussia, PA (Bishop Shanahan), has been named NEC Prime Performer for the third time this season. Over the weekend, DiGenova achieved two consecutive shutouts in away games against NEC opponents Stonehill and Merrimack.
The Saint Francis Red Flash are back in action this weekend as they return home for their third home game of the season against Wagner at DeGol Field on Friday, Oct.3rd at 3 pm.
