Red Flash Women's Volleyball March Over The Saints in Five

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Korrin Burns sets new program record for most kills in a home game. 
>> The Red Flash add a tally to take the lead in the series against Siena, 3-2. 
>> Saint Francis wins in five sets over Siena (25-18, 25-23, 25-16, 25-22, 15-7).  

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
In the fifth set, after a back and forth four sets, the Red Flash started off with a 3-2 advantage. With a dominate duo block by Burns and Kori McClure, Saint Francis started heating up. They continued to go on a 6-1 run with help from two kills by Gwen Atkins, two aces from Burns, and another duo block by Alyssa Irwin and Aaliyah Toppin. The match point was set up perfectly by Alexandra Sappia for a Burns kill to top off the night.  

FLASH MOMENTS 
Starting off the game down 21-10, the Red Flash gained some fire with an 8-3 run fueled by an Irwin kill. Irwin continued to produce two more kills alongside an ace from Chandler Alter. Sappia assisted in four of the kills, two being dimes to Burns.  

Two kills sliced across the court from Atkins, giving Saint Francis the power to take over. Sappia laid down a kill of her own then continued to set up back-to-back kills for Toppin, giving the lead to the Red Flash. Burns capped off the set with a kill set up by Sappia.  

The Red Flash had two more power surges in the third set. The first run started with a Burns kill, followed by two Sappia aces, and a McClure kill. After another kill from McClure, Atkins laid down her kill along the line. Although it was not very long before Saint Francis went on its second run of the set. Alexa Chapla's ace expanded the gap to keep Saint Francis ahead in the third set. Atkins and McClure secured the win with a joint block.

FLASH NUGGETS 
Burns, an All-NEC first-team performer, had a standout performance with 30 kills. That puts her second overall for the program record of single game kills and most kills in a single home game. She also collected 11 digs leading her to her 14th double-double of her career.  
  McClure, an All-NEC first-team performer, threw in six kills, four blocks, and two aces. 

Sappia tallied a total of 55 assists, which tied her personal record in a single game. This game adds to her streak of 20 or more assists per game up to 19 matches. She also collected 10 digs and two kills, giving her a double-double on the night.  

Atkins had 12 kills, eight digs, three aces, two assisted blocks, and two assists.  

Toppin added five kills and two assisted blocks. 

Irwin tossed in eight kills and two assisted blocks.
