TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
With the third set tied up at 20 all, Saint Francis goes on a 4-1 run to give them the lead. Nicholas Lynch and Dorn both had kills thrown up by Kuruzovich, forced a Northern Kentucky timeout. After an attacking error by the Norse, Lynch and Nathan Zini had a huge duo block to put the Red Flash at set point. Stump finished off the set with a kill to give Saint Francis the 2-1 advantage in the game. Saint Francis continued to fight as they took the game 3-1.
FLASH MOMENTS
Although Northern Kentucky had the first point, Saint Francis went on a 5-0 run to follow. Three attacking errors caused the Norse to hand out points to the Red Flash. Zini had an ace right before Kuruzovich set up Stump for a kill. To finish off the set, freshman Derek Piatek collected a service ace to give Saint Francis the set point. Kuruzovich once again set up Stump for a kill to take the first set.
Saint Francis started strong again with a 5-2 stretch. Kuruzovich's kill put the Red Flash on the board. Stump continued the run with an ace, followed by a Dorn kill, and finished off with a Zini kill.
During the fourth set, the Red Flash was down 16-14 after the media timeout. Saint Francis lit a flame as they went on a 6-2 run to take the lead. Lynch started the fire with a kill from Kuruzovich. Dorn proceeded to tally up three aces in a row to hype up the Red Flash bench. Stump had a kill of his own to put Saint Francis up 20-18. The set ended with a dominate duo block from Dorn and Lynch.
FLASH NUGGETS
Stump, the NEC Player of the Week, finished the night with 13 kills, five digs, three aces, and two blocks.
Lane registered five kills and two assisted blocks.
Zini collected eight kills and two aces.
Lynch recorded seven kills and three digs.
Kuruzovich tossed in 41 assists, five digs, and three kills.
Dorn finished the evening with 12 kills, three aces, two assisted blocks, and a hitting percentage of .579.
