TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Saint Francis went neck and neck with the No. 3 ranked men's volleyball team in the country until the very end of the first set. Kills by Dorn and Nathan Zini gave the Red Flash some fire to tie the game at 2-2. This same intensity was continued throughout the game with key plays from Nicholas Lynch and Brady Stump.
With the game tied 17 all, Hawaii had two major attacking errors that put Saint Francis up by two. During the next point, one of the Rainbow Warriors went up with power in his swing, but Sam Lane and Kyle Charles shut it down. This block gave the Red Flash the largest lead of the set with three. This point forced Hawaii to call a timeout. However, after the timeout Hawaii found some fuel to tie the game back up at 20-20. After a couple of back-and-forth points, Hawaii went on a 3-0 run to claim the first set. They never stopped fueling themselves and won the match 3-0.
FLASH MOMENTS
In the second set, Stump had a dominate kill to put the Red Flash on the board first. Later on, Saint Francis tried to close the 17-9 gap with two back-to-back kills by Charles that were assisted by Kaminski. Freshman Luke Colquette's debut tonight included a kill set up by Charles.
Dorn, Brayden Gall, Stump, Lane, and Jackson Decker all had kills to contribute to the third set. Towards the end of the set, Lane and Zini had a duo block that shut down Hawaii's outside hitter.
