Helena Lynn, a member of the Saint Francis women's tennis team, has been named the NEC Co-Women's Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, while senior Kelly Dowuona was recognized as the NEC Prime Performer for the 11th time in her Red Flash career.
Lynn continues to emerge as a rising star on the team, currently holding a record of 16-10. The freshman leads the team in wins, claiming victories against Colgate, Binghamton, and Navy, while also pushing her opponents to the limit against Penn State and Buffalo.
This season, Dowuona cemented her legacy at Saint Francis by becoming the all-time leader in combined wins and, as of Friday, Sept. 6, the all-time leader in singles matches with 59 victories. As of this writing, the upperclassman is 12-10, riding a five-match winning streak in singles, with victories over Lehigh, FDU, Bucknell, and Duquesne.
Saint Francis women's tennis is back in action this weekend as it travels to Hilton Head, North Carolina, to participate in three spring break matches against Florida Southern College, Assumption University, and Spring Arbor University from March 1 to March 6.
