TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The Red Flash were down 14-18 late in the second set, when they went on a small 3-0 run. Nathan Zini collected a kill and then LIU could not convert at the net, causing two attacking errors. The Red Flash could not catch back up after losing the second set, falling 1-3.
FLASH MOMENTS
Saint Francis started the contest off hot with a 7-0 run. Sam Lane had three straight kills to get the Red Flash going. Charles set up Stump for a high ball that he placed in the back corner for a kill. After an LIU timeout, Stump recorded another kill before a Shark attacking error.
To end the first set, the Red Flash went on another little surge. Stump collected two kills; one set up by Cole Dorn and the other by Charles. Nicholas Lynch and Zini had a duo block to aid in the lead. Lynch continued to record the last two points, both on aces, to win the first.
FLASH NUGGETS
Stump, a two-time NEC Player of the Week and four-time Prime Performer, finished the night with 15 kills and seven digs.
Zini collected nine digs and five kills.
Charles tossed in 29 assists and seven digs.
Dorn had eight kills and four digs.
Lane recorded eight kills and a .467 hitting percentage.
