HOW IT HAPPENED  
In doubles action, Saint Francis women's tennis swept all three matches to start the day on a high note. The nationally ranked doubles team of sophomore Sophia Cunningham and freshman Emma Marais, along with the duo of junior Reagen Mangan and freshman Helena Lynn, both secured 6-2 victories. The freshman-senior pair of NEC Prime Performer of the Week Gabriela Almanza and Dowuona also took care of business on court two, finishing their match with a 6-3 win.

In singles action, the Red Flash continued their strong performance, winning five of six matches. Chichkina, another NEC Prime Performer of the Week, set the tone on court one, finishing her match with a 6-2, 6-2 score, marking her third consecutive singles victory of the 2026 spring season. Rising star Lynn notched her team's leading 14th win of the year, defeating her opponent, 6-1, 6-3. Dowuona, the program leader in career wins, recorded her 68th victory, blanking her opponent in the first set, 6-0, and closing out the match with a 6-2 second set. Marais and Mangan completed the match on courts five and six, both earning their second straight victories with final scores of 6-4, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-4, respectively.

NEXT TIME OUT 
The women's tennis team returns to action on Sunday, Feb.8, as the Red Flash travels to Pittsburgh to take on the Duquesne Dukes at Oxford Athletic Club at 2pm.
