BOX SCORE

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Brady Stump, Nathan Zini, and Cole Dorn combined for 37 kills.
>> The Red Flash collected six aces in the win.
>> Saint Francis beats Daemen in a five-set thriller (20-25, 29-27, 25-20, 25-27, 15-13).

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
During the final set, Saint Francis had small runs that gave them the advantage they were looking for. It started with a 3-0 run with help from Sam Lane and Stump. Lane registered a kill and a solo block. Kyle Charles set up Stump for a kill of his own. A kill from Zini hit the media timeout putting Saint Francis up 8-7. Then back-to-back kill from graduate student Zini boosted the lead to two. Dorn shut down any thoughts that Daemen had to come back with a huge kill to take the game 3-2.

FLASH MOMENTS
Daemen went on an early 8-4 lead to try and get away from the Red Flash. However, Saint Francis went on a little power run to chip the gap away. Brayden Kuruzovich set Brayden Gall up for a clear middle ball that the Wildcats would not stop. Next Dorn threw up a pass for Stump to send through two blockers for a kill. Gall once again collected a kill to inch closer to Daemen.

Saint Francis once again found itself down to Daemen, this time 7-5. Freshman Luke Colquette started to bring the Red Flash back with a kill along the left side. A couple of errors from the Wildcats gave Saint Francis the push it needed to go back and forth until the final point. Zini, Stump, Gall, and Lane all contributed kills to keep the score close. Zini put the Red Flash at game point and then turned around and had a duo block with Gall to take the second set.

Daemen had another strong start in the third set, but it was no match for the Red Flash. The 8-1 run was powered by five Wildcat errors, a Gall service ace, and then a Stump and Charles kill. With the set tied 18 all, Saint Francis went on another run but this time a 5-0 run. Dorn registered an ace, followed by a kill from Zini and Stump. Freshman Derek Piatek collected the last point in the set, an ace.
