WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 
Saint Francis women's tennis dominated another NEC opponent, defeating Mercyhurst, 6-1, on Friday night at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, Pa.

HOW IT HAPPENED
During this evening's match, Saint Francis set the winning tone with victories on courts one and three. On the first court, the duo of freshman Helena Lynn and sophomore Dasha Chichkina battled through their match, finishing 7-5. The doubles point-sealing win came on court three, where junior Reagen Mangan and freshman Emma Marais shut out their opponents, 6-0.

The tone remained consistent in singles action, with the Red Flash claiming victories on all but one of their solo courts. On the first court, reigning NEC Player of the Week Chichkina tallied her sixth straight victory of the season with a score of 6-3, 6-4. The next victory came on the third court, where reigning NEC Rookie of the Week Lynn confidently handled her opponent, earning her eighth consecutive win of the season with a final score of 6-1, 6-1. On the adjacent court, freshman Gabriela Almanza engaged in a three-set marathon, pulling out a victory with scores of 3-6, 7-5, 6-2. Mangan claimed her second victory of the match, defeating her Lakers opponent 6-2, 6-1, which increased her winning streak to five straight. Wrapping up the match on court six, sophomore Morgan Tuffs easily dispatched her opponent with a final score of 6-0, 6-1.

FLASH NUGGETS 
With today's impressive performance by the Red Flash, this evening's win extends the squad's winning streak to six straight victories. The last time the women's team suffered a loss was March 1 against Florida Southern, in a 5-2 defeat. The last loss to an NEC opponent dates back even further to Feb. 15, when the Red Flash fell to preseason favorite FDU in a neutral-site match in Hershey, Pa.

NEXT TIME OUT 
The Red Flash women's tennis team returns to action Wednesday, April 1, as it travels to face the Mountaineers of Mount St.Mary's at the Mount St.Mary's Tennis Courts in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
