After another win over an NEC opponent, this time against Mercyhurst, sophomore Dasha Chichkina and freshman Helena Lynn played key roles, each earning decisive victories in their singles and doubles matches to secure a 6-1 victory for the team in Erie, Pa.
Leading the team with a record of 23-10, few players have stood out in the scorebook like Lynn, who primarily plays in the third or fourth spot in the lineup. With this weekend's win, the underclassman extended her winning streak to eight consecutive matches. This week marks the sixth time this season that Lynn has been named NEC Rookie of the Week.
Playing out of the same spot for most of the season for the Red Flash, Chichkina has set the tone for her team's success, winning her last six matches to improve to an 18-12 record in singles. This week marks the fourth time this season that Chichkina has been named Prime Performer, earning her 11th career Prime Performer award.
