TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Cole Dorn put Saint Francis on the board early with a kill set up by Charles. This was right before a Red Flash 4-0 run to boost the lead and not let go. Dorn grabbed another kill set up by Charles, this time on the left side. Charles decided to collect his own kill right before he set up Nathan Zini on the right side. The Red Flash were not satisfied with their lead, so they went on a 5-0 run this time. Brady Stump and Sam Lane registered a kill each then middle blocker Brayden Gall threw in an ace to force a LIU timeout. After the short break, Saint Francis continued its momentum with a duo block from Lane and Zini. A Shark service error gave the Red Flash the first set.
FLASH MOMENTS
During the second set, LIU was up by one point but between Zini and Stump, they found fuel to put the Sharks in the dust. Stump collected two kills and three service aces that left LIU speechless. Zini had two aces and a kill to continue forcing LIU timeouts. Gall nabbed a kill right before he joined Zini in a duo block that put Saint Francis at set point. Once again, a Shark service error was the final factor to give the Red Flash the second set.
The Red Flash went on a 7-1 run that allowed them to regain the lead. Dorn claimed a kill right off the hands of LIU's libero. Gall had back-to-back kills down the middle past blockers. Then Gall joined Zini for a duo block to take the lead 6-5. Charles boosted the energy with another kill followed by a Zini kill.
Still in the third, Saint Francis had a two point lead before going on a 5-1 run to claim the match. Zini, Charles, and Stump led the way during this run. Zini had back-to-back points, one kill and another ace. Charles grabbed a kill to force LIU into a timeout. Stump put the Red Flash at set point and then recorded a kill for game.
